For four weeks, Ondaland Water Park in Vicolungo was closed to the public, with access restricted exclusively to authorized personnel. During that time, the park’s spectacular water attractions served as the filming location for Red Carpet – Vip al Tappeto, the comedy reality show hosted by Alessia Marcuzzi and featuring commentary by Marco Santin and Giorgio Gherarducci of the irreverent Gialappa’s Band.
“The entire water park was rented by Amazon Prime,”
explains Daniele Vailati, Managing Director of Ondaland,
“for the filming of the second season of the reality show Red Carpet. The confidentiality agreement we signed with the Amazon company prevented us from taking photographs or revealing what was happening inside Italy’s largest water park.”
The four episodes filmed at Ondaland are scheduled to premiere on Prime Video beginning January 23.
A Japanese Format with Celebrity Challenges
The reality game show, based on the Japanese format Red Carpet Survival created by Nippon TV, is loosely reminiscent of the classic television competition Games Without Borders.
The concept features three teams of bodyguards, each assigned the mission of escorting celebrities safely to their destination while ensuring they remain on the red carpet at all times.
Along the way, contestants face a series of unexpected and often hilarious obstacles designed to test their teamwork and determination.
The winning team is the one that successfully protects its assigned celebrity until the finish line.
The Celebrity Cast
The celebrities featured in the Ondaland episodes include:
The first season concluded with victory for the “Branzinos” team—Herbert Ballerina, Antonio Ornano, and Brenda Lodigiani—who successfully escorted their celebrity, Melissa Satta, to the finish.
