Ondaland will open early on May 28 for the 2022 season. Italy’s largest water park is beginning a new chapter under the management of the Seafood Group, the strategic operator already responsible for the Genoa Aquarium and the Safari Park in Pombia.
“We embarked on this new venture just over two months ago,” explains Daniele Vailati, CEO of the Seafood Group. “With the invaluable help of the previous owner, Max Coda, we have managed to become the first water park to open this year. The season will begin early, on May 28, and continue until September 11, for a total of 110 days of pure fun.”
The park’s opening hours have also been extended. “The ticket offices will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m., while admission will begin at 9:30 a.m. The park will close at 7:00 p.m.”
“Anima-Ondaland” will provide entertainment for visitors. “Our professional entertainment team,” Vailati explains, “will keep both adults and children entertained throughout their visit with a carefully planned programme. Guests will also be able to organise private parties and birthday celebrations.”
The water park will also offer evening events. “Ondaland Evening Party will make its debut on June 11,” says Vailati. “From 4:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., there will be music, DJ sets, shows, cocktails and food, as well as a new opportunity to dance in the water.”
The water attractions have been renovated to make them even more thrilling. “We are currently testing the software that controls the wave-pool system, the famous ‘Grande Ola,’” Daniele Vailati explains with a hint of pride. “Visitors will be able to experience the artificial waves in an even more exclusive, entertaining and unforgettable way.”
The website, www.ondaland.it, will become a useful tool for speeding up admission and avoiding waiting times. “Online shopping allows visitors to purchase their tickets in advance and take advantage of discounts, special offers and other benefits,” says Vailati. “The season pass, which provides admission on every day the park is open, is available for €99. There is also a special ‘After School’ promotion: for €18, visitors receive admission to the park as well as a meal consisting of a burger, fries and a drink. Spending the afternoon at the water park is sure to appeal to students, especially because Ondaland provides lunch or an afternoon snack.”
The recruitment of trained and qualified staff has also been completed successfully. “Finding staff during this challenging recruitment period was the real test before opening,” Vailati concludes. “For the time being, we have managed to fill all available positions. During the peak season, the workforce will include almost 100 employees, including more than 25 fully certified lifeguards, ensuring the highest possible safety standards.”
